To offer sports, fitness/nutrition and education programs for Dorchester youth which emphasize life skills, academic focus, and healthy and active lifestyles that are required to succeed in community life and become successful adults.
Structure of Organization:
ADSL
is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization with a board of
directors consisting of various community volunteers. Most our the funding comes from
foundations, businesses and individual donors, however, the City of Boston is
very generous with in-kind support. Donations and grants enable us to expand various programs and offer more structured opportunities for young people in our community.
Who Can Participate?
We offer sports and education programs for youth, primarily in Dorchester, between the ages of 4 - 18. Most of our participants are from Dorchester, but there is no
residency requirement.
We teach our participants
and help them succeed at any skill level. We also help youth who are hoping to succeed in high school & college athletics by teaching the proper sport-specific training.
Our education program offers tutoring, homework help, and test prep services to students in grades 5 through 12. We strongly urge and our sports and fitness participants to take part in the education program.
